My Premiere Program Experience

My Premiere Program Experience

I have gotten many questions regarding Premiere and what it’s like to attend, and what it mean’s to be apart of the community. For my first blog post I would like to share with you, not just the program but also the family I have been welcomed into.

My experience at Premiere Talent Event was extraordinary! It began when I auditioned in January of 2016 for the program, which took place in July 2016. Auditions are held all around the world and multiple states in the U.S. I made it past the first and second round of auditions and then was accepted into the program. From the first week of January until I left to Florida in July, I trained with the head director and coach. We had online sessions going over acting skills, performing monologues, scripts, commercials and punch lines.

After the first 2 months of acting training with the head director I was asked personally to be the Ambassador/Representative for Vancouver. As I took this position of working and managing all-social media channels for Premiere Event Vancouver, I had the opportunity to attend auditions, and be welcomed back to the program twice since 2016.

July 9th I left to Orland, Florida for the weeklong Acting Showcase Program! The first day I had the opportunity of meeting and listening to Debby Ryan’s career story, as all performers had a choice in which figure they want to hear from. I performed my lines on stage in front of Debby, continuing with her feedback and comments on my performance. We worked with a coach practicing slating and standing onstage confidently to deliver our lines to the camera to prepare us for the auditions to come.

The second day I participated in two classes for the main event of the program, which is us, performing our lines, monologues, commercials, and punch line to over 50 Industry professionals. In our class we performed one comedic monologue, one dramatic monologue, one sit-com scene, one soap scene, one commercial, and one punch line. Keep in mind what you perform does vary due to what level or category you get placed in.

The next two days at the program included 6 auditions in front of industry professionals such as Casting Directors, Managers, and Agencies from around the world. On the last day at this program I was congratulated as I had been given call-backs for both a Chicago Casting Director and a Manager from Los Angeles and New York. From this experience not only have a grown as an actor but also as a person, growing more confident in my talent and myself.

This was fortunately not the end of my story with Premiere, as found in my Bio, I share about how I have been invited to come back to the program in December 2016. I met and worked with the performers attending this program and met with other ambassadors from around the world including Australia, London, Singapore and Eastern Canada. From here I have continued to work with and be apart of the Premiere family. I will continue to be thankful for the opportunities I have had with them and the people I got to meet and learn from. This includes Dru West and Michael David Palance who both have taught me some of the most valuable lessons when it comes to both the industry and finding your inner confidence and respectI look forward to growing and developing as a performer and offering my talents to the industry!

Sixteen more days until I have the amazing chance to go back in August to yet again meet and work with performers from around the world at the August 2017 Program.

Premiere has been a foundation for myself, not just in acting but also in finding what I am capable of and putting the right sources in my hands, in which I will be able to use throughout my career and lifetime.
